WPT Looking To Start Operations In India
The World Poker Tour did not want to leave the shores of the United States for a few years.
But, things have started to change as far as WPT is concerned and now it has decided to move and stretch across the world. It is now testing the international waters and looking to expand all over the globe.
The next place that the World Poker Tour is eyeing is India. It has entered into tie-ups with Adda52.com in order to expand the poker base into the billion odd people that the country has. This Asia-Pacific expansion will be looking to make further inroads into the Indian country through the unfolding of a new tournament in the form of WPTDeepStacks India. Apart from holding this event in India, the WPT will also be coming out with a brand new honor for the Indians through the WPT Indian Player of the Year award. This is a very good tactic to woo more and more Indians to play poker.
The WPT is of the opinion that the poker community in India is mushrooming and Indian with a population of 1.3 billion people can be a global poker landscape. India can be a major territory for poker. The WPT is not just looking to take the WPTDeepStacks to India, but is also looking to award the Indian players an incremental value through the WPT Indian Player of the Year Award.
The WPT and Adda52.com will be taking the WPTDeepStacks to one of the most popular locations in India, Goa. The tournament is also looking to be hosted in a unique way as it is slated to be held on a floating ship. It will be held from November 7 to 13 at the Deltin Royale Casino in Goa. It will be a $1000 buy-in tournament.
